It’s okay to have fun, even though we should do it responsibly. It is also often to get out to visit to distant relatives or simply and easily to finish old year and start the next one by enjoying a tourist destination.

Tips to drive at New Year’s Eve, start safe the new cycle!
Before mentioning the basic tips that we already know, we will give you others that, even though are less frequent, is valid to consider them, whether you are going to a party or being the host of this.
Ask and make know if there’s any designated driver.
Even though is a more frequent practice in North America, it is also okay to have a designated driver in family or group with friends. If you are the one, be responsible and avoid alcoholic drinks so you can take to others; if is someone else of your environment, don’t invite them to drink and respect their role. All people can have fun without drinking liquors, beer, etc.

Consider alternate transports
Whether before going out of home or once in the meeting, consider private transportation, such as Uber, DiDi or public taxis. If you know you are going to drink alcohol, maybe the best is to leave your car and go back to home in one of these services; if you are the host and you see that a guest is not in conditions to drive, ask to they one of these transportations.

Stay on the couch
Ok, we accept it, it has happened to us at least once: we have promised that we won’t get drunk and we do it anyway. If this occurs to one of your guests, offer them to sleep in your house, whether on the couch or offer them an extra bed.
If you are that guest, ask kindly to your host to provide you a space to sleep that night. It worths more a moment of shame than a fatal accident on highway.
Keys stay here
It might sound as a drastic measure, but, believe us, sometimes is necessary. How many times we haven’t seen someone pretty drunk to insist that they can drive. How many occasions that person denies to give their car keys and starts to being violent.
A practice that must be applied more often, that guests give their keys when arriving home where the celebration will be. If one of them is in bad conditions, is easier to don’t give them their keys than try to take them away. As we mentioned before, offer them an alternative as sleep there or take another transport.
Don’t try to be brave
“I drive better when I am drunk”. Maybe you have heard someone to say this, right? Well, all of them lie. Alcoholic drinks affect the responsiveness of all the people that consume them, it doesn’t matter if you are used to take them or not. It will also be another way to avoid to fall asleep at wheel.
For that, we will give you the tips to drive at New Year’s Eve: if you drink, don’t drive that is the easiest solution to avoid any accident. Consider that, even though you don’t drink, you will find other motorists that are drunk, so, your reflexes and perception must be great to know how to react before these mishaps.
